Admittedly, the former is my fault as when players unlock a new Minion it will be highlighted with a green circle, however, if you did not interact with previous Minions you’ve unlocked they will remain highlighted until interacted with. I personally have 261 Minions currently, and I regularly struggle to locate new ones I’ve just unlocked or ones I want to show off because the images are quite small and their ordering is somewhat all over the place. Unfortunately, the Minion Guide is quite annoying to navigate, especially when you have a good amount of Minions. If players already have a Minion out, clicking on Summon should immediately summon the new Minion, however, there are times when this will simply put away their current Minion requiring them to hit Summon again. While players are in the Minion Guide they will simply need to right-click on the Minion they would like to Summon. This is also a draggable button that can be placed on a Hotbar and will be the easiest way to place it on a Hotbar if you are playing on the Console. Alternatively, players can hit “P” on their Keyboard to open their Actions & Traits Menu, head to the Main Commands section and locate Minion Guide in the right-hand column. If players would like quick access to the Minion Guide, they can simply open the Character Menu, hold their Left Mouse Button on the text and drag it onto one of their Hotbars. This option will not be available at the beginning of the game and players must unlock at least one Minion either by purchasing it on the Market board, by winning it from a Duty or by completing quests which have a Minion as a reward. Here you can locate the Minion Guide option which will open up your catalogue of any Minions you have collected. If players have kept their settings on Default, they should see a series of round buttons in the bottom right of their screen above their Gil or whatever currency they are currently displaying. While there is no default Hotkey to Summon a Minion or access the Minion Guide, it is relatively quick and easy to find when you get used to the UI in FFXIV. Note: If you have any questions about FFXIV that you want me to cover feel free to leave them in a comment below, you can also ask me while I am streaming on Twitch, YouTube or in our community discord. I’ll try to cover any questions you have and provide you with some side solutions if there is any customization you are hoping for. The obsession has gotten to the point where I’m debating focusing all of my Gil farming on purchasing as many Minions as I can so I can catalogue what interactions each one has.īut I digress, today I’m going to cover the multiple ways you can Summon your Minions. Quite frankly, so many of my streams become me interacting with my Minions and trying to figure out which emotes work with them especially since I’ve added a redeem to randomize my Minion a few months ago. Minions that I can interact with tend to be my favourites because they give me something to do when I’m in the queue and need to keep my hands busy. While Minions provide few methods of value to a player in FFXIV, there are several Minions which have incredible idle animations and some which can be interacted with using emotes. Though I’m personally more of a Mount Collector, being someone who is regularly completing side content like Tribal Quests to get all the Mounts in the Game, I will still always look for Minions on the Market board or in times of prolonged downtime I will casually farm for them in Duties like Variant Dungeons. Not only are players able to choose the clothing they wear and spend countless hours on the Market board or farming Duties to get the aesthetic they are looking for, but players can take it two steps further by being able to farm Mounts they can ride around the world and Minions they can summon to hang out with. Arguably the best part of playing a game like FFXIV is the ability to customize multiple aspects of the game.
